Planning Day – Bushcare & Composting Sunday 6 August

Today interested community members attended the first planning day and AGM to establish a new steering committee for the Thirroul Community Gardeners (TCG). The group brainstormed ideas and talked about what they would like to see included at the garden site. It was decided to start work straight away and as compost will be essential for the success of the garden it was agreed to work on this next Sunday in conjunction with the usual bushcare working bee. So, if you have any material to contribute to the compost you can either drop it off at the site or bring on the day. We will start the compost inside the timber rail fence to the right of the gate. There will be separate heaps for dropping off dry and wet material. So if you have straw, lawn clippings, manure, kitchen/vegetable scraps, etc they would be welcome. If you are unsure if your material is suitable you could contact our email address to ask advice: thirroulgardeners@gmail.com
