Calling all Gardeners: AGM and Spring Clean-up SUNDAY November 15

Spring has sprung (and then it seemed to go back into its box again but hopefully it’s back properly now!) and that means Wollongong City Council sponsors the annual spring-clean known as Rise and Shine. Each participating organization earns $100 for assisting with the cleanup. We use this money to pay our rent, so we need all the help we can get to get in and clean up around the creek.

AND – it’s also time for our Annual General Meeting. All members are welcome – and if you’ve not joined, or re-joined, you can do so at the meeting. If you’ve been meaning to come along, and haven’t got around to it – this is the perfect time to come along and meet your fellow gardeners, and help shape the direction of the garden for the coming year. And a meeting is also a great excuse to ¬†share some food. So bring a plate to share!

Here’s the timetable for Sunday’s big meet-up:

9 am – Compost turn, as usual

10 am – Clean up in and around the creek. We have bags, gloves, tools. But you need to wear protective clothing, wellies or gumboots if you have them, a hat, and sun protection.

12 pm – Lunch and AGM under the COLA at the garden. Please bring a plate of food to share.

Please submit agenda items for the meeting to by Friday afternoon!

See you down at the garden on Sunday.

Cheers Julie
